Requirements

1. We will only translate for charities, NGOs and any other kind of non-profit-making organization’s websites.

2. We must agree with the aims of these organizations. We will not provide our services to movements that promote any kind of extremism, radicalism, violence, etc.

3. The aims of organizations that we would like to encourage will be concerned with the following ideas: raising public awareness of and helping the environment, open source projects, assistance for the most disadvantaged, education, information, denunciation of injustices, knowledge diffusion…

4. There will be a limit to the length of the texts that appear on the website. It is not fixed yet, but it will probably be around eight thousand words (four or five full-working days). Therefore, if necessary, the original text should be summarised, or a halfway measure should be adopted ―for example, the number of words that exceeds the fixed limit should be paid for at a low price.

5. Nobody wants to waste their time. So generally speaking, the original websites, or at least their texts, should already exist. The project should be feasible, have some consistency, and it should also be supported by a real organisation (however, it does not imply that this organisation must be very big).

6. The name of the translator and the team that has localised the website will clearly appear linked on the website. Something similar to “This website has been translated by X” will appear.

7. Our agency and our collaborators do not dispose of unlimited resources. Therefore, the translation of a website will depend on our availability.

8. The organisation must need this service, from a financial and practical point of view. In other words, the translation of this website should make sense.

9. Normally, the free translation will only cover the website.

10. Obviously, free access must be provided to the website and to all the information that is shown. The contents of this site must comply with the law (at least, the European law). In the event that this access stops being free or the web stops complying with the law, the website owners will have to remove all the translations from their own website, and where possible, they will have to permit the display of the translated information on another software platform.
