07.12.2009 - Mondo Services opens a new office in Sagunto (Valencia)

Mondo Services Agencia de Traducción, S.L., a member of the international Mondo Services group, with its head office in Madrid and offices in Hamburg (Germany), Genoa (Italy) and Ghent (Belgium), is opening a new branch in the Autonomous Community of Valencia in order to consolidate its position in the domestic Spanish market. The new branch is located in the city of Sagunto, a major industrial city that lies just 28 kilometres to the north of the city of Valencia.

Mondo Services has chosen the Autonomous Community of Valencia as the location for its second office within Spain due to the fact that it is one of the largest autonomous communities offering one of the largest markets in the whole of Spain. It is the fourth largest community by inhabitants, with a population of around five million people and also has the fourth largest Gross Domestic Product.
The city of Sagunto has a population of around 65,000 people and is a major industrial centre, especially in the iron and steel sector.

Our agency will continue to offer all our services with our customary high levels of quality both from Madrid and from now on from Sagunto too.

30.09.09 - Mondo Services - ProZ.com Member

Mondo Services is now a full member of ProZ.com, one of the largest networks in the world for professional linguists.

Created in 1999, ProZ.com is probably the largest network in the linguistic services sector, with over 380,000 registered users and is a source of information and a meeting place for many more professionals.

The objective of ProZ.com is to provide translation services to translators, agencies and other professionals within the sector so that they can set up social networks, expand their businesses, improve their work and gain professional experience.

Of course, Mondo Services had no desire to miss out on such an opportunity. In recent years, ProZ.com has become an inexhaustible source of new collaborators. Mondo Services now intends to use this powerful tool more than ever in order to expand its resources, discover new business areas and, in short, to continue contributing as far as possible to the thrilling, dynamic world of languages.

29.09.09 - The network of voluntary translators continues to grow

The Mondo Services Project continues to make great strides in the establishment of free translation to NGOs.  The excellent response from volunteer translators and their genuine interest in the projects that they undertake will enable us to meet the needs of NGOs interested in spreading their message to a larger number of partners and people in need.

Thanks to this initiative, we have over 75 translators and offer Spanish, German, French, English and Italian, along with other languages like Russian, Polish, Arabic, Catalan, Romanian, Galician and Bulgarian. 

However, the potential that this network of volunteer translators gives us, together with its willingness to translate texts of immediate relevance within a field that wishes to be free from exclusive authority and to help one another, by giving them a voice that is normally unheard because of high costs, illiteracy, wars, corruption, discrimination and destruction of the environment, would be meaningless if not accompanied by the free and open nature of the projects between Foundations and NGOs.

This means that the positive response to this initiative from more than sixty of them, located in Italy and Spain, strengthens our belief in their present results as an indication of even better ones to comes.     

This was the case with the translation into Spanish of the history, activity and achievements of the Luchetta Ota D’Angelo Hrovatin Foundation, an Italian NGO which, for fifteen years, has cared for over 600 children who have been displaced by military conflicts or for those without the resources to pay for urgent operations or receive even the most basic medical attention. We have also worked with the ELIANT association, which is attempting to change laws in Europe in order to achieve increased individual freedom through the collection of one million signatures.
In the near future we also hope to continue with another translation project for the SOS Bambini BGO, which is dedicated to improving conditions for children in Eastern Europe and Africa.

05.08.2009 - Mondo Services arranges for Professional Civil Liability insurance cover

Mondo Services has arranged for professional civil liability cover, which includes the vicarious liability of sub-contractors, employers and operational liability, thereby covering all possible contingencies and unforeseen events within the linguistic services offered by the agency.

The policy, agreed with the company Lloyd's, has an indemnity limit of 300,000 Euros per incident and year for cases of professional civil liability and of 150,000 Euros per incident and year for cases of employer’s liability.

This represents a commitment to professionalism by the agency, as well as an additional guarantee for all our clients. 
This insurance policy covers the agency (and indirectly the client) against possible damages arising from unforeseen negative consequences during the execution of or due to the service.
The first priority of Mondo Services has always been and will continue to be the quality assurance of its projects, through its meticulous selection of collaborators and employees, as well as exhaustive reviews and checks before the delivery of products or services. Thanks to this, until now we have never had a case where a client has been harmed due to the poor provision of a service and has had to be compensated.

However, we are aware of what, for example, an accident caused by a poor translation of an instruction manual could mean and, as we know that it is impossible to completely rule out possible mistakes, we have decided to arrange for professional civil liability cover, which enables us to take responsibility for these types of contingencies and unforeseen events.  

21.05.2009 - Free translation for NGOs

Mondo Services, in collaboration with the web design agency Van3, has begun a new project, offering NGOs and non-profit-making associations in general a translation service for their web pages.
The idea has been a long time coming to fruition, but has finally seen the light of day. The principal motive is to help others so that they in time can help us, doing something useful for society that will, sooner or later, have an impact directly or indirectly on ourselves.

The objective of this project is to assist those organisations in transmitting their concerns and communicating the problems that confront a large number of people.
