Is there a minimum size for translations? Why is there a minimum price?
There is no minimum word count; we can do a translation of just one word. In the case of short translations we apply a minimum price in order to cover management costs associated with the translation.

How long will it take to deliver the translation?
There are several delivery methods. If it is not an urgent translation the normal pace is two thousand words per working day, the number of working days needed to carry out a translation will be calculated around this.

If it is an  urgent translation the deadline can be reduced by half or even a third of the time. Generally, the delivery of short jobs that are not urgent is done within two or three days.

When is it necessary to request a sworn translation?
If the document that is going to be translated has to be presented before an official ministry or organisation (affidavit, court rulings, certificates etc.) it probably needs to be sworn.

How do you count the words?
If the document is in electronic format you can do an exact word count which will form the base of the quote. If the document is on paper or in other formats where you cannot count the exact number of words, the quote will be based on an estimate and the final bill will be drawn up according to the number of translated words.

The size of the text will more or less increase according to the language that is going to be translated (it is very rare that in a translation the size of the text goes down). This is also something that we take into account when preparing the quote.

What is the difference between an interpreter and a translator?
Basically the difference between an  interpreter and a  translator is the method of communication: interpretation is oral; translation is written.

Interpreters work "live" (at conferences, fairs, meetings, etc.) as both their level of language and their communication abilities are important as well as the speed of their response during a conversation. A translator can take more time translating a text, but their response has to be more clear and exact.

Both interpreters and translators work better when they translate into their native language since they manage better this way. However, with interpretation, it is often the case that you have to translate into the foreign language.
